The 2nd Toronto Senior Fitness Competition Awards Ceremony Concludes Successfully

—Moving Forward Together, Embracing Health, Celebrating Vitality and Happiness


On October 5, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Awards Ceremony and Cultural Gala of the 2nd Toronto Senior Fitness Games was festively held at the Toronto Fairview Public Library Theatre.


The event was hosted by the Colorful Cultural Association and co-organized by the Colorful Senior Service Center.


More than 400 participants, members from senior fitness teams from across the Greater Toronto Area, guest, family and friends gathered to celebrate this vibrant and inspiring occasion.



Dignitaries Gather to Celebrate the Success of the Games The ceremony featured an impressive lineup of distinguished guests and dignitaries. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow attended the ceremony, delivered warm remarks, and presented an official congratulatory letter, commending the Colorful Cultural Association for its outstanding contributions in promoting community wellness and senior fitness.


Other notable guests included MP Jean Yip,MP Maggie Chi, MPP Jonathan Tsao, MPP Aris Babikian, Toronto City Councillor Shelley Carroll, and the Assistant of Markham City Councillor Amanda Yeung. They all extended their congratulations and presented certificates and awards to the winning teams.


In addition, the event showcased congratulatory letters from Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, MP Michael Ma, MP Shaun Chen, and MPP Billy Pang, expressing their support and warm wishes for the success of the competition.




President’s Address: United in Passion, Striving for Vibrancy

In her address, President Xiaoping Hao of the Colorful Cultural Association expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all guests, participating teams, and volunteers for their dedication and enthusiasm. She remarked


“We sincerely thank every team for their passionate participation and every volunteer for their wholehearted dedication. It is your shared love and perseverance that made this year’s Senior Fitness Games such a success! Let us look forward to next year’s competition and create even greater achievements together.”


Moments of Glory: 26 Teams Honored with 46 Awards


This year’s Games featured multiple award categories, including Best Performance Award, Best Organization Award, Best Vitality Award, Most Popular Award, and Excellence Awards.


A total of 26 teams received 46 awards, covering a wide range of fitness and artistic disciplines such as Tai Chi, fitness dance, aerobics, and artistic fitness. The purpose of the Games goes beyond competition — it provides a platform for seniors in various community groups to showcase their confidence, quest for health, and zest for life.


A Special Contribution Award was presented to Mr. Yuan Zhao, composer of the Games’ theme song “Moving Forward Together, Embracing Health”, in recognition of her remarkable contribution to promoting fitness culture for seniors and artistic creation.


Cultural Gala: Original Creations, Artistic Vitality

Following the awards ceremony, a dazzling cultural gala took the stage. All performances were original works or re-programmed pieces by participating teams, reflecting their creativity, unity, and artistic spirit. The program featured dance, Tai Chi, drumming, costume shows, and instrumental performances, vividly expressing the optimistic, energetic lifestyle of the senior community.


Applause filled the theatre throughout the show, making the gala another highlight of the event.



A Warm Conclusion: The Journey of Health Never Ends

As the theme song “Moving Forward Together, Embracing Health” echoed once again through the theatre, the 2nd Toronto Senior Fitness Games Awards Ceremony came to a successful closure amid enthusiastic applause.


The Colorful Cultural Association reaffirmed its commitment to providing a platform for seniors to share their talents, connect through fitness and the arts, and promote the on-going development of community culture and health initiatives.
