On the evening of September 15, Woodside Square was filled with excitement and energy as the award ceremony and gala of the Toronto Inaugural Senior Fitness Games took place, coinciding with the 2024 Mid-Autumn Food Carnival.

The award ceremony kicked off with a passionate waist drum performance, setting the tone for the evening. Organized by the Multicultural Exchange Center and co-hosted by the Federation of Canadian Chinese Associations, the event attracted over 500 participants from dozens of teams. After preliminary and final rounds, 16 winning programs and 12 outstanding performances stood out.

Xiaoping Hao, President of the Multicultural Exchange Center, delivered a concluding speech, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all participating teams and athletes. She praised the seamless cooperation, discipline, and dedication displayed during the scorching park preliminaries and the intense finals, which deeply moved the organizers.

The lively fitness dance performances drew crowds from the carnival stalls, and the presence of nearly 200 athletes added to the grandeur of the event.

Member of Parliament Shaun Chen attended the gala, read a congratulatory letter, and presented awards to the winning teams in the Tai Chi category. Katie Guo, a national-level fitness coach from China, awarded the fitness category winners, while Yang Rui, a certified Latin dance coach in Canada, presented awards to the group dance category winners.

The well-trained ceremony hosts and the orderly presentation of awards reflected the organizers' professionalism and attention to detail, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

All finalists received generous prizes, and group photos with awards became a highlight as athletes eagerly captured their moments of triumph.

Following the awards, the gala showcased outstanding performances from the fitness games, offering a feast for the eyes and ears.

Although the inaugural fitness games have concluded, participants are already eagerly preparing for the Second Toronto Senior Fitness Games.

Congratulations on the successful conclusion of the Toronto Inaugural Senior Fitness Games Award Ceremony and Gala!

Let’s celebrate health, culture, and community spirit! See you at the next games!
